About
Fundamentals. Work Ethic. Passion.
Hustle Squad Basketball started in 2023 but is a lifelong passion of owner, Corey Maclean. After noticing a need for high-quality, knowledgeable coaching for the younger generation, he developed a program using his own passion and experiences as a long time junior and NBL1 coach, to turn children into athletes.
Fundamentals. Work Ethic. Passion.
These are the core values of Hustle Squad Basketball.
Our Mission
To provide an environment where young players can learn and develop the fundamentals, work ethic and mindset required to play basketball the right way. The coaching philosophy utilised within Hustle Squad will be centred around the holistic development of players within a positive, supportive and creative training environment.
Our Coaching Philosophy
Hustle Squad Basketball lives and breathes by our coaching philosophy.
positive environment
I create a positive and supportive environment for my players to thrive in. I believe in constructive criticism, encouragement, and a question based coaching philosophy where players are encouraged to find answers before being given solutions. I want my players to find comfort in the uncomfortable, meaning they are empowered to take risks and learn from mistakes understanding it is how they will improve.
Work Ethic & Passion
I want to help develop my player’s work ethic and passion for the game of basketball. I want to create an environment where players enjoy practising, competing, and learning. By fostering a genuine love for the game, players are more likely to dedicate themselves to continuous improvement and long-term success.
“By embracing these principles, I strive to not only develop skilled basketballers but also shape young individuals who are confident, resilient, and prepared to excel on the basketball court and life in general."
